Yes, Geoff...

Boring out the jet(s) would definitley
enrichen the mixture throughout the
entire rpm range, no doubt about it.

Going back to stock "90" jets should make
quite a difference.

ON the "45"...just curious:
Was the calibration (especially choke
size) tailored for a stock 1275? I've
seen guys change the stock 34mm choke
size to something like 36's (to get more
out of the top of the rpm range) and the
bottom end goes all to hell.

Or, they'll get the wrong "1275" kit and end up with a 45 DCOE tailored
for a
race MiniCooper S instead of a stock
1275. This happened to Frank Clarici and
to myself as well. This is how we learned
there were 2 kits available for the 1275!!
At least this is how I learned!! :)

Well, whatever. Nothing wrong with a good pair of SU's either, for sure.
But
once I stuck the "right" DCOE on my
stock 1275, it went as well as the stock
SU equipped car with faster "response"
at any rpm and "more" at the top.

No intent to argue the point (at all)...just
curious.

Anyway, let me know what happens when
you change the jets in the SU's, ok? :)
