Yep, that WAS Clear Creek Mountain. It was renamed in the '60 as Mount
Phillips, in honor of Waite Phillips, the oilman who donated the land to the
scouts.
As for chuck's trail that crossed a river 50 times, that sounds like the old
Middle Fork Urraca Creek Trail. It has since been re-routed, but the old
remnants are still there if anyone felt like looking for it!
It's amazing that its been 10 years since I last hiked those trails, but the
little details come back like it was yesterday.

Yep, it was Clear Creek Mountain. I went in the mid-50's too--1956. Mighta
