When it is right, to your absolute satisfaction, drill a 1/8" hole through
the flange of the hinge and into themounting plate.
Tap in a small spring steel roll pin.
Next time ( there will of course be a next time, and sooner than you
think!), leave the 2 roll pins fixed to the mounting plates and align the
hinges onto these.  You probably need to open the hole in the hinge out to
3/16" to make it easier to slip over the roll pin, but it will still be
suficient to give you accurate, repeatable alignment.
