Well put, that's exactly what I did. I tried a stick welder first and 
muddled about for a year or so. Then I found out MIGs were in a price 
range I could afford. I got a Century 110v unit and haven't looked back. 
It has a variable heat range and wire speed, so it is a step up from 
some 110 units. The main thing I picked up on is, once you recognize and 
can tune to that sweet spot buzzing noise, you can weld anything.
