5 speed gears

Hello,
I was just at a new British car fixer. He showed me a catalog with a 5 speed
gear kit for a ribcase tranny.
Instead of replacing with a datsun tranny.
He also says that when he was in Europe they used Toyota corolla gearboxes.
Has anyone ever got one of these kits?
Anyone have stories good/bad about same?
Just weighing my options
