In a few states the speed limit with a trailer is 55 mph - California for
example. However, in a good many other states there is no special speed
limit for trailers. Michigan is an example - if the speed limit for cars is
70, then the speed limit for cars with trailers is 70. I've been passed
many times by guys driving pick-ups pulling 4 place snowmobile trailers
doing 90 :-). I made a trip to Oklahoma and back last fall pulling a
trailer and if I remember correctly only one of the states we went through
had a speed restriction on trailers, and it was only 5 mph less than the
limit for cars without trailers.
