I tried to hook up the pertronix the way a couple of listers recommended
this weekend because the factory directions would not work. The new
wiring did not work either. So I called Pertronix this morning and
talked to the customer tech line about this. They insisted that the
instructions I have that direct me to ground the positive side of the
Lucas Sport coil to the positive side of the battery or to ground
(positive ground car) were correct. They could not understand how
listers got their units working with the alternate wiring mentioned in
previous posts. I was told to send my unit back to Pertronix and they
would check it out and if faulty they would replace it. The tech also
mentioned things that normally go wrong with the installation. A good
ground from the positive side of the coil is a must. The ground wire
inside the distributor must be good., etc. I will mail this out this
morning and wait to see what they say.

P.S. Oh yes, I am sure this is a positive ground Pertronix unit for a
positive ground car.
