Don't get too "into" this particular
unit.
You may have gotten a bad one. Was the
box sealed or did it come opened? Maybe
you hooked it up right and the last guy
didn't, if you catch my drift.
Also, it is not uncommon for new parts
to be less than they should be. This
happens. Units can be dropped during
handling, etc.
I have had new multi-thousand dollar
starter-generators fail upon
auto switch-over from starter to gen. ...
just because it is new doesn't mean
it'll work as it should.
Sure, you will check your work tomorrow
but be prepared to take it back and get
another one....this one may be "NG"
for whatever reason.
