First of all, sorry about your bad luck...real bummer.
I hate "interference" mechanicals
in this respect. Piss poor engineering as
far as I am concerned, as "efficent" in
some respects as they design may be.
In any event, after reviewing Gerard's
response to your post on this....is there
any way you can find out if a change of
tensioner is called for in accordance with
the dealer's maintenance check-off sheet
with respect to the scheduled change of
timing belt in accordance with the mfg's.
recommendation?
Because if it is called for, and they didn't
do it....well....you see where I am going
with this.
I mean if Gerard knows this, how come
the Volvo maintenance people don't
and why wouldn't this be on their
"official" check-list as a "to do" item with
respect to the mfg's. recommended
scheduled change of the timing belt?
