Still now answers from the list on what the thread size and pitch of the
steering column nut. I buggered mine up and stripped the nut trying to tighten
it. I'm thinking I need to find a 9/16" die but a standard NF 18 pitch thread
appears incorrect as well as a 9/16" 20 pitch as measured by a thread gauge.
I've located a replacement steering wheel nut but want to fix the buggered up
threads before I ruin that nut also. Anyone ever used one of those thread
chasers shown in the Moss Catalog? Curious how well they work and would they
work on a really strange thread pitch. Thanks to all for the help. Bugsy really
wanted to get out of the garage but he finds himself sans steering wheel
temporarily. Merry Christmas to all and to all goodnight!
P.S. Santa left a nice HF Sandblaster Cabinet under my tree. Where was he last
year when I really needed him. Oh well, consider it a tool for my next LBC
Project.
