Hell, Tim-
I didn't realize there were this many manufacturer's of alum. heads for
the
A series!
I have a Pierce modified with 1.4 intake
valves and teflon intake valve seals, 10
studs, one bolt "11" conversion.
Engine is a Rivergate-built 1293 "tailored"
for a Judson blower (which it will never
see unless the "heat issues" caused mainly by the "super" octanes of
today's unleaded "hi-test" (yeah....right!!) are
resolved by the maker!).
Until then installing an APT supplied
1.75HIF44 set-up (if David ever gets
the manifold and parts out to me!!:).
No problems with the head. Static
compression ratio is 8.3-1, original
Cooper S cam advanced 4 degrees
for low/mid range torque, 1.5 bushed
"rollers". Med. bore LCB, 1.75" exhaust
through rear box only RC40. Total advance on 93MON is 32 degrees.
Car goes like hell. Very, very "peppy".
3rd gear "chirp" if I get "aggressive"
(which I very rarely do!).
Don't know exactly what part the alum.
head plays in performance increase, but
advertised to flow 30+ better than stock.
I think it must!! :)
Will dyno it in the Spring.
