Listers,
I've been working on a 66 Sprite with my son since bringing it home in
August. I have developed two problems that I'm having trouble
with. I'll be happy to solve one at a time.
I am using the original wiring harness. I got the fuel gauge working, but
now it stopped. The dash lights, high beam light and tach have't worked
yet. Tail lights, brake lights, directionals and front marker/directionals
work, but stopped flashing. I've never been able to get the headlights to
work. Lights on the front are all new and they work when wired direct to
the battery. I've checked and rechecked all black grounds under the
dash. There's only one brown wire in the main harness that has nowhere to
go. I checked the ground under the hood, under the blower hose, used,
dielectric grease, star washer, etc. Still no headlights. Where do the 3
wires from the dimmer switch connect at the front end. How does one side
connect to the other headlight?
Related but not problem 2 yet... where does the horn mount and why doesn't
it work when I connect the two purple wires?
This is my first Sprite and I love the car. I've missed the chance to
drive it a bit before winter, since we had 5" of snow already and it's 25
degrees, but I'd love to have it ready for a warm day sometime. TIA
