Tom,
You'll have to remove the tach from the dash and open it up. Then wire
it back up with the back off. There's an adjustment screw inside on the
back that will be obvious once you have the back off. Use this to
adjust. I suggest you rev the motor to about 3000 and then synchronize
with your Craftsman.
This is all assuming that you have a Smiths/Jaeger gauge that is at all
similar to those put in MGBs.
