YEEEECCCKKK, Liver is one thing I could never stand.
My mother used to fix it all the time when I was a kid at home with my
sisters. Later, after we were all moved out we told her the real story.
Whenever she fixed liver, we would pick at the potatoes etc until mom
got up and walked away from the table. We were not allowed to get up
until after our plates were clean. So we drank a quart of milk from one
of those cardboard milk cartons, and then stuffed the liver in that.
Into the trash, clean plate, dinner done, do dishes. She told us she
thought we liked liver, so she just kept fixing. Man did we drink a lot
of milk in those days ;-)
