ok breester!
i'm not dumping on you here but this is the bottom line ! tires are chosen
by manufacturers for specific reasons. vehicle speed, handling, load
capacities and numerous other reasons. i get asked where can i get "cheap"
tires? "my tires are too expensive for my car" . "i can not afford new
tires, those are too expensive". well that should have been considered when
the vehicle was purchased. it came with care and feeding instructions .
they need to be followed or you will be compromising "something"!
now , 400.00 is not much for new tires. but! if you compromise the vehicle
with cheaper tires wich usually equates to less performance that
manufacturer reccomends......what might happen?
vehicle becomes unstable at speed? very slippery in the wet? a new
unpredictable undesireable handling problem right when you need it not to do
something unpredictable like in a pannic emergency situation?
yup! 400.00 is a lot of money! no arguement there! but what is a human
life worth? let alone the value of the car if damaged in an accident? time
off from work to chase insurance claims, recover from any injury, rental car
while car gets fixed.......and so on!
the price of 4 new tires becomes very insignificant , in spite of other
financial obligations!
never buy"cheap" tires or without very intelligent guidance ever change tire
size or speed rating from manufactures specified sizes and ratings!
now a good price can be found but you need to be an educated buyer! there
are tons of tires out there and some manufacturers are less desireable than
others in the level of quality you get for your dollar.
check out tire rack on line and get their 800 number off their web site and
give them a call with you size and speed rating and ask what they have to
offer in that size and see what they have available.
be safe!
i wantcha around too!
chuck.
