Still trying to solder that da***d tube into the overflow tank on the 1500.
I heated it this afternoon, melted all the solder out of the joint, pulled
the tube out about a querter inch. Sanded it with medium sandpaper to clean
it up, coated it with plenty of flux. Replaced it and heated it with propane
and applied the solder. It STILL does not want to suck the solder into the
space between the tank and the tube. Solder sticks to the tube and the tank,
but will not flow into that space like it should.
Anybody have any success doing this? Is there something I am not doing? I
am pretty good at soldering copper plumbing fittings leak free. But this
poorly engineered POS has me stumped.
