This past weekend, my two teenage granddaughters (16 and 13) visited me from
Berkeley Springs, WV. (I live in Summerville, SC) They (and their parents)
looked at our new Saturn VUE and said all the right stuff about it, then they
said
"what we really want to see is the one in the garage over there." (meaning, of
course my 76 Midget) They had not seen the car since I restored it. So, on
their 3rd afternoon here I got it out and started taking everyone for rides
(the 16 year old has her license, but can't drive stick). The oldest one said
"if I give up Christmas presents for the next 20 years, can I have the
Midget?" The other, younger one (by the way they are both beautiful blondes
and did they ever get the whistles and shouts and horns blowing when we went
for rides - we are all blondes - not one of us dumb, either (lol)) said "well,
missy, you can't have it because I want it and I am going to come down and
help Grammie a lot the next couple of years, so she will like me best." They
kept up running comments all the rest of their stay here and when the left
this morning they opened up the garage for one last look.
She ran really great for us, as she always does. Sassy little thing!!
