With my 78 Midget, I'm quite accustomed to seeing a pool of black goo
accumulating towards the front of my garage. As they say, if it isn't
leaking, something is seriously wrong.
However, I noticed tonight after a drive that there is a black stain on the
asphalt towards the rear of the car. This is new. I inspected the
undercarriage of the rear of the car. Gas tank had either grease or road
grime on it. A sniff on that and on the stain had no smell to it. What's
going on here?
And when it rains, it pours. I bought my Midget from a dealer. When I bought
it, the driver's outside mirror was knocked off thanks to some kid horsing
around the car. I was given the mirror, and my local Brit car specialist put
it back on, but said it was only a temporary fix, and that I would eventually
have to replace the entire mirror assembly. Well, tonight, the mirror broke
off. I'm going to buy a new one, but how involved is the installation?
All advice appreciated,
Tom
