Spent most of the weekend trying to figure out how to reinstall the
tonneau fastener post on the dash. Did not want to spend the rest of
Oregon's all too short summer trying to reinstall the dash, so a method
needed to be devised that would allow access with the dash in place. To
the rescue came Gary with a knitting needle, a nut, a tube of Duco glue,
and a tin of rubber cement. He glued the nut to the washer, mainly to
make it easier to find should it drop. After the glue dried, he stuck it
to the end of a knitting needle and held it in place long enough to
start the fastener from the top. At that point, it was a relatively easy
procedure to tighten down the nut. Madge is now safely buttoned up just
in time for the predicted rain tonight. Thanks for the advice.
