All the bores aren't sucking on the same straw at the same time.  When their
turn comes, they 'see' a bigger hole.  When I swapped the 1.25" single carb
on the turbo 1275 for a single 1.5, the HP went right on up.  The car was
already pretty darn fast with the single 1.25 feeding the turbo for the
reason above.  Now with the 1.5,  I really wouldn't want to get much faster
with a street car.  One is enough.
