Cross-drilled rotors develop stresses at the drillings and will
eventually crack, especially on race cars. Grooved rotors are better.
(At least, this is what I've always read.) Drilled rotors are for
looking "kewl". ;-)
F-prod racers use MGB calipers on Spitfire rotors with a special
'hat' (or hub?). (They may have gone to fancier stuff since the rules
changed to allow rear disc brakes. I dunno.)
