For a simple magnetic oil filter belt, just pick up some scraps from the
local magnetic sign shop or craft store. Make your own, it's magnetic,
it should stick to the filter. Cut the filter open when you change the
oil and see if it worked. Reuse the magnetic strip. It should last a
lifetime.
Ferrous metals in the engine are probably only 1/2 the metals you will
find anyway.
The bearings shells, valve giudes, carb and intake manifold chunks, will
not be picked up with the magnet, so hope your oil filter is working as
intended.
