Agreed but there is always the possibilty of sleeving the block. My 1275 came 
with factory installed sleeves. This was done when there was a problem in the 
casting. I was informed by the list, that the sleeved engines are prefered, 
since the sleeve doesn't wear as quickly. I can say that the 1275 I rebuilt 
had very little wear on the cylinders, (crank and cam also) although I am 
clueless as to its prior mileage.
Given the condition fo my block, I stayed at "standard"
