It took six months to go from a rolling shell and a bunch of cardboard boxes
and an empty bank account to a running, driving Bugeye. I took it out for its'
first voyage in 15 years. It has been 34 years since I drove one of these
LBC's and I forgot how quick the steering is compared to the full sized cars
of today. What a thrill to go down the road in such a little thing especially
when you don't have tags yet. Everything works except the horn and tach, even
the brakes work ;-) Of course it had to start raining and really dampen the
excitement and my seat :-(
First gear sounds outrageous but the rest sound good. Timing needs to be
worked on and the plastic fan needs to be "adjusted" so it doesn't hit the
radiator shroud other than that there are a few minor items to take care of,
tags, insurance, passenger seat, carpet and horn. There is more but I'll worry
about it all later, I just want to drive it.
