Hi all, another source of the Gear Starter is British Parts Northwest in
Dayton, Oregon. It's a Nippon-Denso converted to fit Spridgets (1275's at
least) and it works like a champion. Good guys to work with and great
price, too. Try them at 503-864-2001 or www.bpnorthwest.com

Hi Chris,

I attempted to put an isuzu starter on my 1500, and while it would bolt
right up to the engine,(if it was out of the car), it required some
massaging (read pounding) of the driver's side foot well. I decided that I
did not wnat to attempt the body modifications and wound up buying a gear
reduction starter from, I think, Paul A. I maybe worng on the identity,
because it has been such a while ago. But whomever it was, will probably
speak up. I highly recommend this starter and the person from whom I
bought it,( sorry I can't remember the name, I have lost many files over
that period of time). It was a straight bolt up with no modifications
whatsoever. It was a little more expensive than the trooper starter, but
the ease of installation was worth it!
