Well, sooner or later it had to happen. Two Midgets (not running, of course)
just weren't enough. I drove up on the Cumberland Plateau last night and
checked out a (hopefully) bargain priced '71 Midget. It's red and has been
parked a few years, but fortunately parked in a garage on blocks with a treated
fuel tank the whole time, which is rare. The car is complete, clean, with a
clean engine compartment. Slave cylinder is off the car, so who knows what
that means. He said he thought the slave cylinder was bad and had started to
replace it. Knowing my luck, the clutch is bad. If all goes to plan, I'll go
pick it up this week and tow it to a mechanic (I don't have time to check it
over right now).
Anybody want to buy a nice, rusty but complete, '75 Midget in need of some
crankshaft polishing? ;-) It has Sparkomatic speakers in it!
I took a friend of mine along and she was amused that somebody would drive 100
miles to look at a car that doesn't run to add to a collection of other cars
that don't run. :-) Anyway, I'll keep you all posted. I am getting screwed
by Comcast's changeover this weekend (from @HOME) so probably won't be able to
check email again til tomorrow...
