C. he's close to you. At least closer than Titusville.
Hope this can help someone out.
Jim,
Thanks for the inquiry about the healey. First, some
background about this
vehicle. My son is 17 and one day, sort of spur of
the moment, I came across
this car at a used car lot a friend of mine owns. He
had taken it on a trade
4 years prior to that and had it sitting in the back
of his garage. The
previous owner had started to take parts off of it and
then got transferred
and didn't want to move the car. My friend did have
the engine in running
order several years before I bought it. Once my son
and I bought it, we
started the strip down to see what we really had to
work with. My brother in
law has restored several show cars and I recently
moved the pieces over to
his house to start on restoring the body. After much
deliberation, we
determined that the amount of work needed will
probably exceed the ending
value. Also, my son will be heading off to college
and the car will most
likely be sitting around for some time, unfinished. I
do not know really
know what kind of shape the transmission is in. The
odometer reads 59,662
miles. I am most interested in selling all of the
parts at one time. I have
no idea as to what the tranny alone would be worth. I
paid $500 for the
entire car and would be willing to take any reasonable
offer for everything.
Please let me know if you are interested in making an
offer. I might even be
willing to deliver the parts since it looks like you
live in the Dayton area.
I live about 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh,PA. I
would like to have a clean
garage again. I can be reached during the day at 412
445-3510 or eveings at
724-352-4783. I look forward to hearing from you.
