Can someone who is skilled in PC troubleshooting help me figure out why my
internal CD-ROM drive no longer appears as an available drive? The machine
is running WIN98 and I have tried everything I can think of to find the
problem. All to no avail. The startup screen indicates the drive is found
(primary slave) and the drive light will blink and the drive will spin up,
but is never shows up on the "My Computer" window. This problem seems to
have started when my son was uninstalling and installing some of his games.
I can get an external CD-R working through a SCSI card, but nothing on the
internal.
I can provide more details offlist to anyone that can offer assistance.
Thanks!
Gerard
