Morris fans.
Bruce Blair of the Smartgroups list contacted me a couple weeks ago
regarding saving the four door Minor from the crusher. Bruce drove down to
San Francisco from the Reno area where we did just that. Below is a little
tale of the adventure, written by Bruce. From what I've seen of Bruce's
restorations and his love for the Morris Minor, the car has a great home
now.
Thanks to everyone for their interest and encouragement.
Morris Minor rescue saga, by Bruce Blair.
>
> Once upon a time and to this day in a well inhabited land called
>California . The king paid a ransom for old rides. These sent to a stable
>run by an evil man named Scrapyard. Scrapyard and his minion forklift fed
>the old rides to the dragon Crusher.
> Occasionally when the moon is blue a ride of special breed wanders into
>the stable. Hannibal is such a rare breed. His presence reported by the good
>squire Gerard to the knights of the Morris table.
> Sir Bruce summoned his courage and armed with the sword of greenbacks and
>carrying the shield of luck traversed the cloud capped summit and crossed
>the guarded suspension bridge. To meet the good squire to plan the rescue of
>one so rare.
> The pair vowed to liberate Hannibal from Scrapyard and the dragon Crusher.
>When our duo found him Forklift had scattered his shoes and pinned him under
>another dead ride, but with the sword swung by sir Bruce and the shield
>manipulated by squire Gerard they triumphed . And Hannibal was loaded onto a
>cart pulled by the faithful Big Red.
> Hannibal saved, now frolics in the high desert stable of sir Bruce. In
>the company twelve others of same noble breed.
> Three cheers for sir Bruce and squire Gerard and all the knights of the
>Morris table.
