FWIW, new rubber OE style bushings are much stiffer than worn out old
crappy bushings. Rock hard bushings are harder on the springbox attachments
which are often already compromised by rust. I would only try these other
sorts of bushings after I had tried new original style and decided they
were too soft. Same goes for shocks. Replace with as close to original as
possible, then tweek. These cars were pretty darn stiff when new. Now the
rubber is worn out. That doesn't mean rubber isn't good. I would feel
differently if you were going for competition, but the pounding you get on
the street may do more harm when using the stiffer bushing.
