Don't you have to torque them, then run them to "seat them in", then torque
them again? Seems like I remember that from somewhere. I put new bearings
on my son's Bronco II and he ran it for some time and noted that the steering
felt loose. I rattled the front wheels and the bearings were loose. I had
to re-torque them. My guess was that they had "seated" and should have been
retorqued.
