A penny's worth from a warm climate
An oil cooler is going to help a lot. My 1380 Frogeye has an oil temp gauge
and an oil cooler (13 row). When racing it, the oil temp goes to 120 Degrees
C and more. Water stays at about 95Degrees C. On the highway at 4000 RPM, it
never gets above 80-90 degrees. Raise the revs on the highway to 5000 or
more and the oil temp continues to rise until you back off and bring the
revs down. Water temp on the road or highway is never a problem until you
get into traffic. Then oil doesn't go up but water temp rises until it
starts to boil or you start to move and get some airflow.
