Didn't mean to make an issue of this since I was merely
responding to Mori concerning the weapon. Actually
I know little about the Webley other than what I stated.
The only reason I know anything about it at all is that
a friend of mine is a gun collector and only recently the
subject came up in conversation. It was my wrong
assumption that the two weapons must have been
similar since the two countries developed these
weapons basicly for the same purpose at the same
time in hustory. I am not a weapons expert as
you can tell.
My knowledge about the M1911A1 comes from years
ago from little military experience with it and as for
details my memory may be a little vague.
This morning I happened to tune in on the History
Channel just in time to catch some information
concerning the M1911A1 and it's replacement by the
Army. According to this source it was replaced with
the M92 Beretta and not the carbine as I stated.
I'm surprised to learn that it was still being used in
Vietnam, somewhat after my time.
I should learn to keep my mouth shut. Seems that
when ever I open it I always get a lot of flak in my ass.
