Hi, David-
This is what I did with my 1275 bored .40
11.0-1 motor putting out 90+ at the wheels when I ran it on the road
many
years ago. Bear in mind, there is more
than one way to "skin a cat" (sorry Ed in
NC! Simply a figure of speech!)
Removed all smog equipment and bought
"vented" gas cap, and used plastic "vented" oil cap, as well.
For crankcase ventilation:
Removed "plate" from mechanical fuel
pump opening in left, lower block and fabricated "vent" for crankcase
pressure
relief, running one inch tube into bottle
topped by appropriately sized K&N filter.
Said bottle also recieved smaller tubes
from valve cover and "flame arrester"
on front of timing chain cover.
No oil leaks (ok, very minor!!) from engine
which lasted 80K, when it swallowed a
valve taking off gently from a stop lite!
