That would be correct. With the engine shut off, there is no way to cool the
water, so it's temp goes up to the temp of the metal in the engine. You
would be amazed at how efficiently a radiator and a fan can cool the water as
it moves thru.
Nothing to worry about, as long as the temp goes back down when the engine is
started again.
