Beauty is indeed in the eyes of the beholder. Although
I like metallic colors for the bugeye, I chose light ivory
for my car not necessarily because I like the color but
because statistically small cars ought be light for safety
sake. The reason, I think, is obvious.
As for the shows my guess is that red probably has been
the color of many winning cars. In other things such as
advertising the color red has always been a favorite color
for attracting the publics attention.
However, although hunters have traditionally wore red
to protect themselves from accidental shootings, for this
purpose yellow in recent years has been proven to be the
most effective for this purpose of the two brightest colors
in the spectrum.
