A little over 2 years ago I was going thru the same thing while refurbishing my
daily driver. I plan on driving this car, I'm not interested in shows or
pristine
originality but I want a nice 10 /10 car. So for a couple of weekends work
prepping
the car myself and fixing dings and less than $400 @ MAACO, I got a 3 year
warranty
against blisters, peeling, etc. When I picked the car up it looked pretty
sorry;
runs, sags, orange peel, thin spots. I had a nice long conference call with
the
owner / operator of the shop and a representative from the credit card company.
Three weeks later (after the paint hard cured) MAACO stripped (not sanded) my
car,
re-did the bodywork and did a really good paint job.
The moral of the story: ALWAYS pay with a credit card. The company may not care
about you as an individual, but they are TERRIBLY afraid of getting a bad rep
with Visa/ Mastercard. :<)
