To de-glaze, gotta pop the head, rent a de-glazer from the local rental
shop and chuck it into your electric drill and de-glaze the heck out of it.
If you haven't used one, it looks like a cylindrical array of grey abrasive
lollipops sticking out of a drill shaft. Put the piston at the bottom of
the bore, figure out how to keep particles from falling between the piston
and bore while you go to town with the de-glazer as far down as you can
reach. Clean up the cylinder carefully after a few hand turned rotations to
bring any missed debris up to the top of the bore, and good luck to you.
You did , of course, check for any ring wear ridge that may have needed
reaming? Your compression doesn't hint at a smashed 1st compression ring so
that is probably not a problem.
