Derfman!!
You are everywhere, are you not? You
keep following me around!! I CAN'T
STAND IT ANYMORE!! (as in Seinfeld!).
How 'ya doing, Derf. Have been running
a Pertronix for almost two years now and
no problems whatsoever. Make sure
wires within unit have plenty of "room"
and do not chaf when "moving" with
other "moving" parts when dizzy operates.
Resist temptation to widen plug gaps
beyond .028" as Pertronix is up to
"powering" even wider gaps without
a problem, but the rotor is not! It
will fail (crack) suddenly and strand
you! Stock part not up to Pertronix
potential at all.
If you want more power to the plugs
along with the Pertronix, think Nology
Hotwires (Vizard tested - they worked!)
as these will supply more juice to plug
"after" the distributor, "sparing" the rotor.
Ordered my new Aldon dizzy from UK
tailored for Judson 1275 with Pertronix
installed as part of deal. Have much
faith in this method of ignition.
"Coated" headers. Look good, last
a long time, keep heat "in" the pipe
and out of the engine compartment
to that extent. Place up in Hartford,
CT will do an LCB for $165.00 or
these may be ordered (coated or
uncoated) from MiniMania (and others
I am sure!).
Of course, refer to Vizard "bible" for
proper "sizing", obviously.
"Talk" later, Derf!
