Mike,

Did you remember to bend up the lock tab (if you're using one)? I have both
a large socket and crescent wrench that provide plenty of leverage. If I
remember correctly, the torque on that nut is 70lbs (or maybe 80). It's
easiest with the engine on a stand, but there are two ways I can think of...

If you have a socket and a breaker bar, put a piece of pipe on it to extend
tha handle about a foot, and use a mallet to whack it. The sharp jolt will
usually break it loose. Try putting the car in gear and have someone stand
on the brake pedal. If that doesnt work, carefully insert something that
won't do any damage through a spark plug hole to prevent the piston from
continuing it's travel.
