Hi Folks,
Here are some compression readings I took last year. (Second set is with a
tsp of oil down the plug hole):

150 110 155 152
180 120 177 172

I pulled the head and a local cylinder head shop resurfaced the valve seats,
put in new valve springs, etc.

Now I'm getting:

144 148 150 148
170 177 177 170

The problem is that the engine is burning a huge amount of oil. I would have
thought that the compression reading looked pretty good after the valve job.
What do you think?

The engine venting is via a (new) rubber tube from an oil separator on the
timing chest to a Y connector to the carbs. The oil cap (new) is of the
vented variety. I can blow down the tube and hear it coming out of the cap so
I believe it is working properly (Ha!) or at least it is not blocked.

(BTW, hoping to install brake wheel cylinders, with infamous E clips. on 1500
this weekend - thanks for input - I'll give a full report!)
