Hi all
In sunny, southern California, I am buying a '62 disc-wheel midget from a
guy I know pretty well. It's an outdoor cat (left outside and oxidized) but
it has no body rust-outs, clean trunk and floors, just surface rust and thin
bondo that cracked. Original color: OEW. There's no upholstery, just seat
frames, all the right instruments for a MkI, a virgin dash (radio hole not
punched, no extra holes), un-siezed 1275 non-smog engine, no carbs, no
tach-drive generator, has smoothcase transmission with shift lever,
picked-over firewall, no chrome, no aluminum except for the cockpit trim,
HAS the windshield and a good frame, no steering wheel of any kind, no
brake/turn light guts, no wiring harness, otherwise complete, has top frame
and side curtains, for $300 American dollars. I have a ribcase for it, and
all the stuff to convert to disc brakes already. There's no title, but I'll
get a bill of sale and a signed Statement of Facts. He's throwing in a set
of front fenders and I think I can talk him out of a set of the
original-style wheels. Maybe this midget will morph to a MkII sprite? I
think I'm doing okay; OR do I have to fib to the spousette? I appreciate
your comments, and I hope you encourage me. Thanks!
Martin
