After going over the beads front to back and imagining what lies below all
the paint, it seems best to leave them be. If they were rotted or the seams
blistered, then fixing vs. removing might change my mind. It simply looks
easier to strip it carefully and repaint than to grind them off, fill and
repaint.
Cleaning and waxing will remain a pain in the behind and I'll see John's car
at shows and envy the look.
Ahh well. Thanks for the discussion, and for the encouragement from those
more bold.
