It's not terribly critical as replacement pistons come without the
relief. However, the relief is meant to be oriented facing toward the
direction the rotor rotates.Sorry, that's confusing. Have the relief facing
downwards at about 45:. The idea is that the relief is at the leading edge
of the caliper as the rotor rotates.
Hope that helps... now I'm confused!
