Hello list. It has been awhile since I posted last due to my fathers health.
But I discovered a big problem today as I was cleaning out my Sprite to get
it ready to be stripped. At first the driver side door would only open just a
little and stop. I finally got it open and didn't see anything out of the
ordinary at first so I begun to clean out the drivers side. When I tried to
close the door it stopped in the same place I was having trouble before. Then
I noticed the door was catching on the front fender. I started to look the
door over to find the reason it was doing this. After a few minutes of doing
this I found the problem, the post the door hinges bolt to was ate up at the
bottom. The lower door hinge is going inside the post when I try to shut it
throwing the alignment out of wack.
Is there anyone in the Janesville, Wisconsin area that would help me fix
this. It would also help if that person could tell me what body parts have to
be bought and which ones could be fabricated. I do not have a welder nor do I
have much experience using them. If it wasn't for that I would do this
myself. I would appreciate it if someone could help me do this soon, the body
is decaying at a rapid rate. I will buy all body parts needed, I just need
someone to help me install them. TIA.
