John,
There are two notches 180 degrees apart behind each outer race. If you
don't have a socket or a piece of brass pipe the right diameter to catch
the entire diameter of the race, you can use a chisel, screwdriver or punch
to drive them out. You need to work each side evenly or you'll get the
thing twisted in there. Try to avoid scoring the hub while your knocking
the race out too. Something brass is best.
