"Wrong Way" Corrigan was a famous "aviator" from the Lindbergh era.
(Between the wars.) He got the name from a cross-country flight which
he wasn't supposed to make. Something about he told his sponsors or the
aviation authorities he was just making a practice flight and turned up
next on the east coast after leaving the west coast. I think he may have
used this excuse a couple of times. ;-)
I have his autobiography(?) but it's been a while since I read it.
Believe the title is, "That's My Story", or something like that.
