I have had good results using BRASSO Cleaner, it took all the old wax down
to the paint, and didn't wreck anything. The reason I tried Brasso was, when
I took the hardtop off my car just after it was painted the rear rubber
seal on the hardtop left scuff marks on the rear deck, I tried everything to
get ride of the black marks, and nothing worked. I spoke to an old autobody
man, he said BRASSO was the best thing to use. I tried it and it worked
great, cleaned everything up and no damage to the paint.
Good luck
