Hi Peter,
Haynes has spring heights of: 9.4", 9.59" and 9.85" in that order. I though
at one time someone was making standard poundage springs at 10.2"?

This is curious as there are 3 possibilities of spring part
numbers for early, mid, and late Spridgets. (2A4214, CHA129, and CHA570 in
chronological order) They all are less than 10" according to data published
in the Bentley version of the factory specs. Yet the springs that Charles
got are 10.5". These springs have been purchased by many others with no
complaints, and all of the shelf stock are 10.5". Several possible reasons
could be at work.
a) The dimensions as published by Bentley are incorrect and he
needs a different part number.
b) The manufacturer of the spring (UK) has them mis-labeled, and
there are quite a few raised-nosed Spridgets running around.
c) ??
Charles and I would like to know some actual, real dimensions from
new or nearly new springs. All three versions would be helpful. I guess I
am suspicious of the Bentley information AND the spring makers' info. Any
help is appreciated.
Thanks for your help. Peter C
