Lots of Spitfires running around quite successfully with 1500's. That's also probably the best place to go looking for information on hopping them up, probably starting with the Triumph 1500 Competition Prep Manual. Biggest "defect" if you will of the 1500, imo, is the driver. It's a three bearing four cylinder, so don't over rev it! Yet owners regularly over rev the heck out of it, and then complain when it breaks. |
